Model Children (click!)

I love taking photos and more than anything, I love taking photos of my kids. They are so fun and random. It's impossible to know what crazy face they will make next. I'm going to devote this page to taking good photos of kids. I'm not a professional, but I love professional photos. And I'm not willing to spend the thousands of dollars a year that it would take to satisfy my ever-changing photo framed walls. I think that everyone should have the opportunity to capture great frameworthy pictures of their kids without paying someone else to do it for them. So here are some tips I have that may come in handy if you are looking to get some quality photos of your little ones.

This is part of a little photo shoot I did of my 10 year old niece. I love silly faces and she was getting a little bored of taking pictures. It really kinda sums up her personality. I stacked an old chest I had and put an old gun case on top of it. I set the stack in front of a red curtain we had in our room and voila!

This next one is at the same spot. Be sure to get some pics really close up. Their faces are so sweet when they are little. You will want to remember how they looked up close.

Another fun one. In front of a curtain that I made from torn up fabric scraps. Accessories are always fun especially if the child likes them. This is her uncles favorite hat, and she loved wearing it.

I love sets of photos. This next set seems to really reflect these 3's silly personalities. When you are out and about, keep your eye open for fun paintings on the wall, cool graffiti, murals, etc. I can think of at least 10 spots in my neighborhood with really neat walls. And rest assured, I will utilize those! This one was along the canal, right behind a neighbor's house. I just let the kids do what they want as far as posing. You can tell how much the little ones adore their older cousin, which is why I put her right in the middle.

Another really fun idea is toothless photos. I just love toothless kids, and if you can get some up and close pictures of your little ones and their mouth full of missing teeth, you'll be sure to treasure the memories forever.
